Child Support

Spousal Support
There are two types of spousal support in Texas. Contractual alimony refers to a contract between the two spouses regarding maintenance and does not have limitations. Court-ordered maintenance is limited to three years and has a 36-month limit on the amount that can be paid. The limits can be waived in the case of disability.
Although this may seem straightforward, it is important to have legal advice. There are tax considerations, especially when there is a difference in income between the two parties.
